Fun visiting the Affordable Art Fair in NYC

I had the pleasure of visiting NY this past weekend with my 11 year old daughter.  It never ceases to amaze me all there is to do.  It was my daughter's first trip to the NY and we hit as many of the highlights as we could.  One in particular was The Affordable Art Fair.  She loved it!

This was the perfect opportunity to check out this particular fair as we look ahead at what other art fairs we may want to do.  I must admit, it was nice to be on the other side of the fair and just walk around and see all the amazing art.

Thought it would be fun to share just a few of my favorites from the fair  Enjoy!

Plans under way for artMRKT SF 2012

Every year we look at options for participating in art fairs across the country.  While Sun Valley is a vibrant arts community that has supported its galleries year after year, we still find ourselves operating around the seasons between winter and summer. Town is quiet giving us more opportunities to participate in art fairs world-wide.

Gilman Contemporary has participated in art fairs for the last three years and this year we are pleased to announce our participation in artMRKT SF in May.  This will be our second year back to San Francisco and we look forward to seeing our west coast clients and friends, as well as meeting potential new ones.  The art fairs are a unique opportunity to make new connections with galleries and clients.  We are proud to be a part of this year's fair.

So much more goes into planning for an art fair than one may think.  From designing the layout of your booth to what artists to exhibit, the details are endless.  However, they are also exciting to plan.

We thought it migh be interesting to see what is involved in participating in an art fair.  Follow us as we make our decisions, prepare artwork for shipping, set up our booth and "take our show on the road".

For now, enjoy a sample of the artists we plan to exhibit at the fair.  More to come on the decisions we made on booth layout, etc...
